Marin History Museum Documentary Screenings on Community Channel

Documentary films are being streamed on the Marin Community channel on channel 26 and 27 sometimes 30 depending on your cable provider. We do not currently have a planned schedule for viewing because the Community Channel makes there own schedule. To view the schedule of programs go to www.cmcm.tv. The films can also be viewed on Marin History Museum's YouTube Channel.

Every Thursday the Boyd Gate House stays open until 8 pm. Now, you can visit the Museum and see the beauty of the Boyd at night.

FREE History-inspired story and song circle for kids 5 and under. Afterwards, visit the beautiful Boyd Memorial Park and playground next door!

 

Maritime History Exhibition: Member Preview

Second Annual Antique & Appraisal Day

Where:            San Rafael Community Center, 618 B Street, San Rafael

When:              Friday, April 12th, 10 am – 2:30 pm

How Much:     $20 for MHM members / $30 general admission

 Do you have a collection of family heirlooms in your attic?  Are you curious to know if your great aunt Maude was right to suspect that they hold significant value or if they are simply sentimentally precious?  MHM and Bonhams, Fine Art Auctioneers and Valuers, invite you to gather your decorative arts, books, manuscripts, jewelry, antiques, heirlooms, vintage collectibles, treasured fine arts and furniture and bring them to the Antique Appraisal Day.  Bonhams verbally will appraise your times and you will have the option to consign and sell at auction if your pieces meet minimum consignment requirements.  This event is being held at the San Rafael Community Center.  Advance ticket reservations are strongly encouraged.

Maximum items a ticket holder can bring for verbal appraisal: five items

Mountain Play’s 100th Anniversary Exhibition Opening & Book Signing Party

Come celebrate The Mountain Play’s 100th anniversary.  Author, Elizabeth Ptak, will give a talk on the organization’s new book and answer questions on the topic.  The event will be at the Museum’s History Center where a concurrent exhibition on the history of the Mountain Play will be on display.  Michelle Kaufman will give a talk about the current exhibition of Mountain Play artifacts. Sara Pearson, Executive Director of Mountain Play will also talk about highlights of the last 100 years of her organization.

 

MHM’s Annual Garden Party

Where:            Boyd Gate House & Boyd Park

When:              Saturday, May 4th, 12 pm - 3 pm

How Much:     FREE

 

Come for a day of fun – it is free for everyone!  The Garden Party will have live music, local food vendors, games and prizes.  The theme for this year is the 100th Anniversary of the Mountain Play.  Actors will be performing selections from plays and the Boyd Gate House galleries will be open for touring.  Free for all visitors!
