Ranching and Rockin' at Olompali
January 28, 2010 – March 2011

Marin County's rich grasslands, protected hillsides and cool ocean breezes create the perfect conditions for agricultural crops, dairy production and cattle ranching. The land known today as Olompali State Park typifies the County's land use history.

Ranching and Rockin' at Olompali includes historic maps, ranch artifacts and photographs detailing Olompali's diverse use as an early Miwok village, a Mexican land grant ranchero, Victorian estate, swim club, and hippie commune. This new exhibition complements our exhibition Growing the Future: Farming Families of Marin.
