A night celebrating music in support of the Marin History Museum

Friday, May 2, 2008
Mill Valley Community Center

Revel in Marin’s musical heritage with former Rolling Stone editor, author, and music journalist Ben Fong-Torres, who will serve as the evening’s Master of Ceremonies.

Marin Makes Music features a cocktail hour where visitors can revel in the historical posters, pictures and memorabilia--including a Robbie Montrose drum set--from decades of musical artistry. Guests are encouraged to bid on an array of silent auction items, from signed guitars by America and others, to dinners, trips, select wines and gift baskets. During a sit-down dinner, catered by Stacy Scott Catering, there will be live music from Marin’s past and future music makers with sets by the Johnny Allair Combo, the Brittany Shane Band and Feel--an "unsigned" Novato High School youth band, who could be the next Huey Lewis & The News. The evening will conclude with an All-Star Jam Session. Don’t be surprised to see some very familiar and musical faces at Marin Makes Music. This is a night you won’t want to miss!
