THE MARIN HISTORY MUSEUM STORY FEATURED ON SHIRLEY GRAVES' PUBLIC ADVOCATE SHOW

NOVATO, CA - "The Marin History Museum Story" will be the topic of conversation on Shirley Graves' "Public Advocate" program, seen on Public Access Television. On hand to update Graves on the status of the groundbreaking, fundraising and other key elements that will shape the future of the Museum will be Executive Director Merry Alberigi, Chief Curator Marcia Eymann and Board Member Andy Anderson, Chief Historian of Wells Fargo Bank. Eymann will discuss how the museum will feature a unique interdisciplinary approach, wherein history, art, culture and geography are interwoven to tell a more comprehensive story of the county. Public Advocate is shown on Wednesdays at 8 p.m., from February 15 to March 8 over Novato Channel 26 and at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 6 over Marin Channel 26. The Marin History Museum is currently raising funds to build the first state-of-the-art museum in Marin County. The new Museum will be a 7,500-square-foot facility with a 14-car parking garage plus 5,900 square feet of archival storage. It will feature exhibits about Marin's founding families and businesses, the environmental movement, the movie and recording industries and much more through a combination of graphics, maps, mannequins, artifacts, audio narratives and a number of interactive displays. The exhibits are being designed and fabricated by award-winning Academy Studios. There will be 1,500 square feet of temporary exhibit space that can feature traveling exhibits from the Smithsonian and other institutions.
