Echoes '76 : Marin County history from Miwok days to 1976

"This film was written and produced by Terra Linda and San Rafael (California) high school film students, ca. 1970-1976 under the supervision of David Swingle and other San Rafael City...In 2002, 10 presumably lost student produced documentaries were rediscovered." The films were produced in cooperation with The Marin County Bicentennial Commission.

"Echoes 76" begins with Miwok and Rancho history, and ends with each Marin town's history. The lost film footage shows the destruction of Hotel Rafael by fire, features a recording of Frank Lloyd Wright describing the construction of the Marin Civic Center, and much more.

China Camp State Park

Located on Point San Pedro on the shores of San Pablo Bay in Marin County, California, the region was originally settled by the native Coast Miwok Indians due to its' strategic location and bountiful fish and game. The area prospered as a Chinese shrimp fishing village in the late 1800's, and later fought off development, hanging on to its' rich history to become a California State Park.
